updated cow

couple of fixes, also smaller so i can post it on the COW challenge site.

COW 127 effort

Here is an attempt at the Creature of the week challenge.
Called strange walker. For this one consider a genetic
animal somewhere between a gorilla and a bat.
Think of the big shaggy arms of a bull gorilla and the
connective points of a Bat. A bats wings connect along
its entire body, so does the skin and fir of this creature.
Very stretchy skin, think of a cat. Very Flexible, can walk
on its front 2, back 2, or all 4 legs, can run on all 4 or the
top 2 legs. Tried coloring each creature with a different
tool in painter, water color, impasto, inks.

Pen Sketch Book

I finally figured out how to get my scanner to work, darn MP to Vista transfer.
So i scanned in a bunch of my sketch book. Here is some of them. I use a normal
ball point pen, then started practicing values using some brush pens.
Using a pen does not allow for erasing so in forces you to be a little more careful and
view the image in your head better.

Finished (for now) painting

Phew. That sure took a long time to finish. (took a week and a half break though). Learned a lot of new techniques during this time. Very satisfying to actually apply something new. (In this piece i used a bump map textureing on the shoe. learned from

Also learned how to make realistic looking water.

Used photoshop CS2 and painter ix.5 (The watercolor brush for the deamon werewulf on the left side.)
The demon in relief behind O'connell just awoke from a mental slumber, and the kid is about to turn into the demon, (All because he is giving on to his anger) His shirt says "never give in" He has a spiritman/shaman/druidic ability that allows him to became certain creatures he has defeated. Some condition must be met. Some of the souls attach to him, and whisper incessantly for him to get angry of pissed off. (Note, he is a good guy, almost all the souls lached to him are not, this leads to some difficulties.) More of the story is in development by me, for my little brothers. it sure is fun

Painter 9.5 is quite the spiffy program. Once you get your head around it i'm sure it will be a tremendous asset. Here are a couple of things i have tried in painter. I am a fan of the pencil tool, it imitates are real one well enough that you can rough out an idea directly into your computer.
This is a scene from a story i am telling my little brothers. O'connel is about to give into the blood burning in him and the souls whispering to him in his anger. (he is a good guy, but connected to him are a lot of evil souls of creatures he has defeated.)

Random fighter.
